Last week some members of the Lutra Institute participated in the International Beaver symposium in Romania.

The symposium took place in the Transylvanian town of Brasov, at the foothills of the Carpathian mountains. Researchers and teachers from all the Europe as well as North America presented the results of their research, teaching methods, as well as methods of providing information on beavers to the general public. On the field, we could also observe some of the beaver’s engineering masterpieces

We found out we have common challenges when we try to mitigate conflicts and improve human-beaver relationships. We still have some work to do, but it is good we can exchange our practice and experiences.

The Lutra Institute contributed a poster, on which we presented the LIFE Beaver project.
