Yesterday, on March 19th, 2024, we successfully held a reading hour with Zala and the Škocjan library.
We read the fairy tale The Busy Beaver by Nicholas Oldland, which is also the winning picture book of 2012 as chosen by the Canadian Children’s Book Centre.
Then we met Europe’s largest rodent. The children could see a real (stuffed) beaver and peek into our Beaver Box: they touched the beaver fur and paw prints, smelled the castoreum and took a look at the gnawed branches. At the end of the meeting, there was an interesting creative workshop where each child could make their own beaver. Thanks to the Škocjan library for the organization! 🙂
