Yesterday, on June 6th, 2024, LIFE BEAVER project partners opened an exhibition about the beaver in the Ivanić-Grad Museum (Croatia). The exhibition is entitled Dabar and wetlands. The basic characteristics (biology and ecology) of the species and its impact on the environment and humans are presented on colored roll-up panels, while the youngest can learn about beavers through puzzles, toys and a beaver coloring book (it is also available on our website under the tab Results – For children).
Visitors can also touch the beaver’s fur, skull, paw prints and take a closer look at gnawed branches.
You are invited to visit the exhibition, the museum and the pleasant spa town of Ivanić-Grad – only 40 km from the Croatian capital, Zagreb. In 1996, beavers were released into the wild for the first time after extinction in the Žutica forest near this town, from where they spread to Slovenia.
