International Beaver Day is primarily intended to raise public awareness of the importance of beavers. This year, we commemorated it together with the Kolpa Park and the Enostavno prijatelji institution in the Adlešiči Community Center. Primary school children first watched the theatrical play The Beaver’s Secret, and then got to know the beaver up close. In the evening there was a lecture about the beaver, its role in nature and the possibilities of successful coexistence.
On this day, it is especially important to emphasize that beaver is a key species in our waters, but we must first get to know and understand it so that coexistence with it will be possible and successful!
