A documentary film about the beaver
We made 12 short documentaries (of best quality) about the beaver, its returning to Slovenian rivers, its conflicts with local people and how do we manage these. Also, we have showed different approaches in education and public awareness rising to schoolchildren (a Nature day, beaver’s case), to adults as well as to our stakeholders (a seminar for foresters, fishermen, hunters, water managing authorities, nature conservationists, farmers) as we have practiced in the course of the project LIFE BEAVER. The final film shows the newest and unique kind of best practice in nature conservation in Slovenia: private purchase of land for the exclusive sake of nature conservation of wetland (also Natura 2000 site) with the emphasis on the beaver.
