At the same time, wetlands regulate the local microclimate, the environment cools, and they also play an important role in water purification, are an important habitat and also represent a very large carbon dioxide sink. “Presence of beavers, therefore, means more wetlands,” summarizes biologist Tatjana Gregorc. “
